Noida:  Residents of Sector 27 are facing serious difficulties due to the mismanagement of the Sub Mall parking area, which was originally developed for the convenience of Sector 27 residents. Over time, the parking facility has turned into a source of constant disturbance, safety concerns and civic disorder. Despite repeated complaints, residents allege that neither the Noida Authority nor the parking contractor has taken effective action.

Unauthorized taxi stand disrupts peace

Residents of Sector 27 allege that the parking area has been informally converted into a taxi stand. Continuous movement of vehicles and noise in the heart of the residential sector has severely disturbed the peace of children, senior citizens and patients.

Hub of anti-social activities at night

From evening till late at night, the parking area reportedly turns into a gathering spot for drunkards. Empty liquor bottles, glasses, food waste and non-vegetarian leftovers are thrown around nearby homes. This attracts stray dogs, creating fear and inconvenience for residents, with dog-bite incidents becoming increasingly common.

No parking space for actual residents

Ironically, residents claim that the parking facility meant for them offers no real benefit. Frequent arguments erupt when guests try to park their vehicles. In addition, people working in Sectors 18, 19, and 27 often park their bikes, cars, and scooters in front of residential houses and leave, forcing Sector 27 residents to struggle to park even outside their own homes.

Dilapidated structure poses a safety risk

The parking building is in a deteriorating condition, with broken railings, heaps of garbage and stagnant water. Residents fear that if urgent repairs are not carried out, a major accident could occur at any time.

Stagnant water all over

Alleged apathy of the authority and the contractor

Sector residents have accused both the parking contractor and the Noida Authority of complete neglect. The Sector 27 RWA committee has repeatedly raised the issue, but claims it has received only verbal assurances, with no concrete action on the ground.

Residents’ Demands

Residents have reiterated that the parking facility was constructed exclusively for Sector 27. They continue to demand that adequate parking be ensured for them. They have also urged the Noida Authority to hand over the management of the Sub Mall parking to the Sector 27 Residential Welfare Committee, stating that local oversight would ensure better regulation and safety.

Kanhaiya Lal Awana, President of the Residential Welfare Association, Tikona Park, Sector 27, warned that residents may be forced to intensify their protest if the issue is not resolved promptly.

Anita Nigam, Media In-charge, appealed to the Noida Authority to take immediate steps to address the residents’ concerns and restore order and safety in the area.
