Noida: Sector-117 residents marked the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and a unique gesture that put women’s empowerment and respect for senior citizens at the forefront.

This year, RWA/117 President Kosindar Yadav and his team decided that, instead of the usual tradition, elderly women and sisters of the sector would be given the honour of hoisting the national flag. The initiative aimed to highlight women’s dignity, empowerment, and inclusivity in society.

On the day, senior women of the community proudly unfurled the Tiranga, filling the atmosphere with patriotism and unity. All the women in the sector expressed heartfelt thanks to RWA/117 for this thoughtful move, calling it “a commendable step that strengthens the spirit of collective participation and women’s empowerment.”
The flag hoisting was carried out jointly by Soni Jha, Gunjan Shukla, Pushpa Pathak, Gayatri Jhakamola, Pooja Rajput, Ruby Chaudhary, Neha Gupta, Rita Pehasu, Sangeeta Tyagi, Indu Sharma, and Priyanka Banyals, representing the pride and strength of women in the community.
This celebration not only honoured the nation but also sent a strong message that empowered women are the true pillars of a progressive society.
