Noida: As Noida reels under an intense heatwave, several residential sectors are battling a worsening water crisis, with daily life thrown off balance for thousands of residents.

On Tuesday, residents in Sectors 105, 71, 117, 51, 100X, and 7X reported severe water shortages following the temporary shutdown of the Ganga water pipeline, which is under repair until June 13. However, locals claim that the problem isn’t new—it’s just gotten worse.

It’s been decades of mismanagement. We don’t even receive 50% of the water we need. There are over 1,200 flats here housing nearly 5,000 people, and we’re struggling daily. Despite repeated follow-ups with the authorities, the response has been indifferent.”

In Sector 117, residents received no water supply at all on Tuesday. Upon inquiry, officials from the water department said that although water was released from the tubewell, the pressure was too low to reach the sector.

To make matters worse, the city is also experiencing frequent power cuts, which have further disrupted water pumping and supply mechanisms—leaving residents even more vulnerable during peak summer.
