Noida : A delegation of the DDRWA Federation met Additional Chief Executive Officer Vandana Tripathi of the Noida Authority on March 12, 2026 and highlighted several pressing civic issues affecting residents across the city. The meeting focused on infrastructure, public safety, sanitation, transport and environmental concerns, with the federation urging the authority to take immediate corrective measures.
During the interaction, members of the federation presented a detailed list of problems faced by residents and sought concrete action from the authority.
Focus on road safety and infrastructure
One of the key concerns raised during the meeting was road safety. The federation emphasised the need for proper road engineering and scientific planning to prevent accidents and ensure safer traffic movement across Noida.
Residents also demanded urgent repair of damaged and broken roads, stating that several sectors are facing difficulties due to deteriorating road conditions. In response, Vandana Tripathi assured the delegation that repair work is already underway and the results will soon be visible on the ground.
Proposal to cover drains and develop vending zones
The delegation also raised the issue of large open drains in the city, which pose safety risks and create sanitation concerns. The federation suggested that these drains should be covered and the space above them can be developed as organized vending zones to improve both safety and urban management.
Fire safety and kitchen infrastructure in Barat Ghar
Another important issue discussed was the lack of proper firefighting arrangements in the barat ghars allotted by the authority. The federation warned that the absence of adequate safety measures could lead to serious risks for residents and event organisers.
Responding to the concern, Vandana Tripathi said that fire safety arrangements and the installation of grease traps in barat ghar kitchens are essential. She informed the delegation that a meeting will be convened soon and the authority will ensure these facilities are installed in all barat ghars.
Sewer overflow troubling residents
The problem of sewer overflow in multiple sectors was also strongly highlighted by the federation. Members stated that overflowing drains are creating hygiene issues and affecting daily life.
Tripathi acknowledged the seriousness of the problem and admitted that sewer overflow is currently one of the major civic challenges in Noida. She assured that the authority is already working in a systematic manner to resolve the issue.
Demand for emergency disaster support
The federation also suggested that in situations such as severe waterlogging, fire incidents or other emergencies, arrangements like helicopter support should be considered to ensure timely rescue and protection of residents.
Push for better public transport
Public transport connectivity was another major issue raised during the meeting. The federation stressed the need for improved bus services to make commuting easier for residents.
The Additional CEO informed the delegation that the authority is working on expanding transport services and around 300 buses will soon start operating across the district, which will significantly improve public mobility.
Citizen charter implementation and action against illegal commercial activity
The federation also demanded strict and effective implementation of the Citizen Charter services to ensure the timely resolution of public complaints.
Additionally, the delegation raised concerns about commercial activities being carried out inside residential sectors. Tripathi stated that the Noida Authority is following a zero-tolerance policy against such violations and action will be taken immediately upon receiving complaints.
Protection of green belts and green areas
One of the major environmental concerns discussed was the alleged sale of sector green belts to builders. The federation urged the authority to immediately stop any such activity and ensure that green areas are protected.
Responding to this, Vandana Tripathi clarified that no green belt has been sold to builders and none will be sold in the future.
Dog policy and stray dog management
The issue of stray dogs was also raised during the meeting. Residents requested effective implementation of the dog policy to address the growing concerns related to stray dog management.
The federation further suggested installing large boards in major parks displaying dog policy guidelines and rules. The authority assured that appropriate steps will be taken soon.
Underground electricity cables
