Greater Noida West: Growing incidents of missing children, especially young girls, have triggered serious concern among parents in Greater Noida West. Following frequent reports of women and children going missing across Delhi-NCR, parents are now more alert than ever and are closely monitoring their children’s daily movements.

Despite CCTV surveillance inside housing societies, the fear intensifies once children step outside society gates. As a result, parents are increasingly relying on mobile phones, live location tracking and constant communication to ensure their children’s safety.

Residents say that concern over children’s security is clearly visible across Greater Noida West. News circulating on social media and online platforms about missing women and children has created a sense of fear, forcing parents to adopt stricter safety measures at home.

Anita Prajapat, a resident, shared that she has given a mobile phone to her daughter, but with strict conditions. Location tracking features remain switched on at all times so that she can monitor where her daughter is and ensure she returns home safely.

Being a girl, safety is always a bigger concern. The news these days is frightening. A little strictness and constant monitoring have become necessary.

Another resident, Palak, believes that parents cannot feel relaxed just because children are inside a society or nearby park.

If a child goes to the park, it is important to know who they are playing with and who is around them. I regularly advises my child not to talk to strangers, not to accept food or gifts from anyone and to clearly refuse if someone tries to take them somewhere. Children are also being taught to immediately inform parents or teachers if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

While CCTV cameras inside societies provide some sense of security, fear increases the moment children step outside.

Sarika, a local resident, said her daughter will soon enter Class 8 and the need for caution has increased with age.

Inside the society, cameras offer some protection, but outside there are all kinds of people. Trust becomes difficult.

Parents feel that depending only on technology is not enough. They believe children must also be mentally strong and aware. Many families are now teaching children the difference between good and bad touch and encouraging them to seek help immediately instead of staying silent or scared.

Several residents of Greater Noida West have urged the administration and police to increase patrolling outside housing societies, strengthen monitoring in parks and public places and ensure proper security arrangements near schools. According to parents, unless the external environment becomes safer, their fear and anxiety will not end.
