QS World University Rankings Europe 2024: List of Top Universities in Europe



QS World University Rankings 2024: The Quacquarelli Symonds organization has released the first ‘QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024’. The list ranks 688 institutions across 42 members of the European Council, including 106 universities that were never ranked before by QS.
The methodology used to rank these universities includes global recognition, teaching resources, research capabilities, internalisation, and employment outcomes. The United Kingdom leads the QS World University Rankings for Europe 2024 with 107 institutions, followed by Turkey and Germany with 73 and 53 respectively.
University of Oxford, United Kingdom has topped this list with an overall score of 100. In the list of top 10 Universities in Europe as per the QS World University Rankings Europe, 7 are from the United Kingdom. The other three positions are secured by ETH Zurich in Switzerland (3rd place), Université PSL in France (7th place), and EPFL in France (7th place).

In the ‘QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024,’ the University of Edinburgh is the only institution to receive a perfect score of 100 in the sustainability category.
According to a QS Survey, which collected responses from 42,613 respondents, prospective international students indicated that the United Kingdom was their preferred study destination in Europe, with 22% favoring it. Following closely behind were Sweden (8%), and Italy (6%), while the Netherlands and Germany both achieved 5% of the respondents’ preferences. Career outcomes continue to be an important indicator as students often think a lot about what kind of job they can get when they pick a university.
Another report from QS found that 58% of prospective students are highly interested in studying in the United Kingdom. The Universities in the United Kingdom have a good reputation and are known for producing graduates with desirable skills and employment after graduation.
