Greater Noida West: What should be a basic human right, clean drinking water, has turned into a daily nightmare for residents of Paramount Golf Foreste Society in Sector Zeta, Greater Noida West. In the wake of relentless monsoon rains, residents are receiving foul-smelling, murky water from their taps, unfit for drinking, cooking, or even washing clothes.

Over the past several days, social media has been flooded with videos and complaints showing the deteriorating condition of the society’s internal water supply.

Water coming into our homes smells like a sewer. It’s yellow, smells rotten, and clogs taps and filters.

. Residents have claimed that despite paying hefty maintenance charges, essential infrastructure such as drainage, water pipelines, and sewage systems have either not been maintained or were poorly designed from the outset.

Flooding across the township has worsened the issue. Photos and videos show waterlogged roads, submerged entryways, and stalled vehicles. According to residents, this is not a one-off incident. Waterlogging and foul water issues have been recurring problems since at least 2015, with no long-term solutions provided by the builder or the local development authority.

Health concerns are escalating. Although there is no confirmed medical data yet from Paramount Golf Foreste itself, recent cases in other Greater Noida societies serve as a warning. At Ajnara Homes in Sector 16B, nearly 500 residents fell ill in June after consuming contaminated water, suffering from vomiting, diarrhoea, and stomach infections. Investigations revealed contaminated underground water tanks and failure to clean overhead water storage systems—raising alarm bells across residential sectors.

In light of these developments, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) launched a water tank cleaning campaign in May, continuing into July, across multiple societies. However, residents at Paramount claim their society was either left out of this drive or the efforts were insufficient to solve their deeper infrastructure issues.

This is not just a maintenance failure—it’s a public health emergency. Why are we being forced to drink poison after paying lakhs for our homes and thousands monthly in maintenance?”
