
Greater Noida: A tragic incident has shaken residents of Greater Noida after a final year BTech student allegedly died by suicide by jumping from the 20th floor of a high-rise building in Paramount Golf Foreste society. The incident created panic and shock among residents of the gated community.
According to initial information, the student arrived at the society in the afternoon. He reportedly went up using the lift and later jumped from the 20th floor. He sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. Security guards and residents immediately informed the police. Police reached the scene soon after and began an investigation. The body was sent for postmortem examination.
Identity of the student
Police identified the deceased as 23-year-old Arjun Tomar, a native of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh. He was pursuing B.Tech. studies in Greater Noida while staying away from his hometown. His father works in a private factory. Upon receiving information about the incident, family members rushed to the spot. The sudden loss has left the family devastated.

Investigation underway
Police officials stated that no suicide note was recovered from the spot. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the society premises and scanning the student’s mobile phone to ascertain the sequence of events leading up to the incident. Investigators are also probing whether the student was facing academic pressure, mental stress or any personal issues.
