A Day Filled with Bhakti and Festivity
From the early hours, devotees thronged the Shiva temple within the society premises. The shrine was adorned with floral garlands, sparkling lights and a beautifully decorated swing (jhoola) for little Kanha. Devotees lovingly took turns to swing the idol of Thakurji, offering their prayers and surrendering their hearts in pure devotion.
Children’s Competition for the Little Kanha and Radha
One of the most enchanting highlights of the evening was the Radha-Krishna dance and fancy-dress competition. Around 100 children, dressed as little Krishna and Radha, graced the stage. Their innocence and divine playfulness brought alive the leelas of Lord Krishna. The society hall reverberated with claps, cheers, and heartfelt adoration. Winners were felicitated by Ashok Choudhary (Chairperson of Temple Trust), Alankar Sharma (President), and Advocate Gaurav Sharma (Secretary).
Cultural and Devotional Performances
The celebration witnessed soulful performances by Atul ‘Toofani’, Subhash Chandra Pal, and Bhumika Tiwari, who, through their bhajans and enactments, narrated Krishna’s eternal tales. Each performance left the audience spellbound, strengthening the spiritual connection of the devotees with their beloved Kanha.
The Midnight Mahotsav
As the clock struck midnight, the atmosphere turned deeply spiritual. With Vedic chants and the sound of conch shells, the Abhishek and Maha Aarti of Shri Krishna were performed. The moment was divine and overwhelming—devotees with folded hands and teary eyes chanted in unison:
“Nand ke Anand Bhayo, Jai Kanhiya Lal Ki!”
The temple resonated with faith, hope, and the eternal message of dharma and love.
Prasadam and community bond
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of makhan-mishri, panchamrit and sweets, symbolising Krishna’s childhood fondness for butter. Devotees accepted the prasadam with reverence, cherishing the spiritual blessings.
A festival beyond rituals
The organising committee, led by Alankar Sharma, Subhash Chandra Pal, Atul ‘Toofani’, Bhumika Tiwari, and others, worked tirelessly to ensure every detail reflected devotion and discipline. Esteemed guests, including retired officers, social leaders, and society members, added grace to the occasion.
The festival was not just a ritualistic observance but a reminder of Shri Krishna’s timeless teachings—to live with truth, uphold dharma and spread love.
