Greater Noida West: Residents of Panchsheel Greens 2, Greater Noida West, are once again raising concerns over the recurring power crisis and faulty DG (diesel generator) backup system, an issue that has persisted since a major fire broke out in the society’s electricity panel in 2022.

DG system and Power panels persisting issues

According to residents, the automatic DG start system and power panels have never functioned smoothly after the incident.

Whenever there is a power cut, it takes nearly 10–20 minutes for the DG sets to be switched on. During this time, lifts get stuck and children often remain trapped inside. Some lifts have ARD (Automatic Rescue Device) working, while others don’t.

Problem with no solution

The problems intensified earlier this year when moisture seeped into the HT panel room due to leakage, leading to a complete power outage that lasted for more than 36 hours. Residents allege that despite repeated promises of resolution “within 2–3 days,” the problems remain unaddressed for the past five years.

‘Power trips everyday’

Residents of Panchsheel Greens 2 informed Apartment Times that the Blocks A6 to C4 are reportedly the worst affected, as the panel, once gutted by fire, continues to experience frequent breakdowns.

On average, power trips nearly three times a day. The DG system is supposed to function automatically, but residents are left waiting in dark stairwells and halted lifts until it starts.

Demand of Government inspection raising

The residents have now demanded a government inspection of the society’s electricity infrastructure.

We are not technical experts. Only an independent department can verify whether the equipment installed is capable of handling the society’s load. Until then, residents will continue to suffer from unsafe and unreliable power supply.
