Noida : Residents of Supertech ORB, sector 74 are constantly troubled by the water crisis and their voices are not being heard anywhere. There is a water shortage and also the TDS level of water is super high, which is not safe for human consumption.

Residents of Supertech ORB informed that it is a daily struggle to cry for clean drinkable water here. The builder of Supertech has cited lack of money for not supplying adequate water. The total TDS level in the water coming into the building is above 2000. Even reverse osmosis (RO) fails to purify it. Due to the high level of TDS, the companies providing RO services have flatly refused to maintain it.
Residents are forced to buy water from outside
Due to bad water in society, many people are forced to buy water from outside. People feel cheated by the builder while living in such a condition even after paying such a huge price for their homes.
Poor quality of water has a bad effect on health
Dr Ashok Jhingan, a Diabetes expert at Max Hospital warns that drinking water with such high TDS levels can lead to kidney stones, discolouration of teeth, bone weakness and even heart problems.
Builder is responsible for high TDS level
Residents of society claim that the builder had taken 535 water connections in the society, but the number of residents here is more than 4000. Supertech’s maintenance department allegedly mixes groundwater with the water supplied by the authority, which further aggravates the problem.
Water is supplied as it comes
Prince, the Maintenance manager says, “Whatever water comes to them from the authority, they distribute all the water.” He stressed that his role is limited to maintenance only.
Basic facilities are also not available
Residents are facing problems with basic amenities. The issue has reached the District Magistrate (DM), who has imposed a fine of Rs 1.243 million on Supertech. Locals have also accused the builder of water theft, alleging that groundwater is mixed with the water supplied by the authority. It is expected that the Noida Authority will take action soon.
