Noida: Residents of Sector 51 are facing major inconvenience due to unauthorized dumping and sale of construction materials on public roads. Residents allege that building material sellers have occupied multiple points across the stretch, especially near Diamond Banquet Hall, restricting access to Sector Gate Nos. 10, 11 and 12.
Nearly 6–7 spots on the road have been encroached upon, where large quantities of materials are dumped openly and sold throughout the day. The illegal occupation has not only blocked essential access routes but has also increased dust pollution in the area.
Residents
Concerned residents have urged officials from Noida Authority, Work Circle 3, to take immediate action and ensure the removal of unauthorized encroachments. They emphasized that selling construction materials on government land is illegal and violates major guidelines issued by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), which prohibit storage of building material in the open due to pollution hazards.
Residents also highlighted that despite strict rules against roadside dumping, the practice continues “openly and fearlessly,” putting public health and safety at risk.
Residents have appealed to the authority to:
Remove illegal encroachments without delay
Shut down unauthorized building material shops operating on the streets
Enforce pollution control guidelines strictly
Authorities are yet to respond to the complaint. Residents hope quick intervention will restore smooth access to the sector and curb rising pollution levels caused by the illegal business.
