Sector 51 underpass: Life-threatening U-turn will be barricaded soon by Noida Authority, Noida traffic cell met the residents with DDRWA

Noida: Noida traffic cell met the residents of Sector 51 on May 24, 2024, at 10.00 am. to solve the problem by barricading the U-turn of Sector 51 metro station. During the inspection at the U-turn of the Sector 51 underpass, the following points were discussed and decisions were taken to find the solution to safeguard the commuters.

  1. Due to the lack of barricading at the U-turn of Sector 51 Noida, there is always a danger of accidents with vehicles coming from the opposite direction. it is very important to have a barricading wall on the U-turn, which was inspected on the spot and it was agreed that barricading will be installed on this U-turn.
  2. At the beginning of Sector 51 underpass, while going from Hoshiarpur to Sector 122, a small divider has been made, due to which traffic is obstructed and accidents happen there every day. During inspection, the Noida NTC team found that this divider was wrongly made, and it was agreed to move this divider from the middle of the road.
  3. At the corner of the U-turn, the wall has extended beyond the road, which has to be removed.
  4. The subject of shortening the triangular tripod road built in the middle of the road was also discussed so that the road becomes a little wider and the vehicle can turn easily.

SP Singh informed Apartment Times, “For getting all these alterations done, the work will be done only after talking to the structural engineer/designer”.

SP Singh, Deputy General Manager of Noida Traffic Cell, RK Sharma, Senior Manager and Naveen, Assistant Manager are in this team.
