Noida : A six-month-old civic crisis in Noida’s Sector 50 has once again come under sharp public scrutiny, as residents accuse the Noida Authority’s Jal Department of failing to repair a dug-up stretch between Overseas Apartment and the Sector 50 STP plant, despite a written assurance promising restoration within 15–20 days.

The road was excavated in June 2025 due to a pipeline leakage by the Jal Department (Jal 3). Since then, the patch remains broken, uneven and dusty, creating continuous clouds of pollution in a city already grappling with hazardous AQI levels.

Complaints escalated to CPCB, CAQM, UPPCB & District Administration

Residents had formally escalated the matter to CPCB, CAQM and Noida Authority on 9 September and 28 September 2025. The issue was also registered on the **UP Government’s public grievance platform (IGRS). On 3 October 2025, the Senior Manager (Jal 3) of Noida Authority issued a written reply, assuring that the road would be repaired in 15–20 days an assurance that now stands violated by more than two months.

Six months on, no Repair, Only rising public health concerns

Locals say the situation has worsened:

The dug-up surface is generating continuous dust pollution
Thousands of daily commuters, pedestrians, schoolchildren, and senior citizens are at risk,
Despite repeated reminders, no action has been taken, exposing administrative failure.

Residents allege this delay amounts to gross negligence, especially when pollution-control bodies have repeatedly stressed the need to curb dust sources in NCR.

Residents Demand Immediate Action

In a joint appeal addressed to the Chairman, CAQM; CPCB; UPPCB; District Magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar; and CEO, Noida Authority, residents have demanded:

Immediate on-ground inspection of the road condition
Urgent repair and restoration

Accountability for failure to comply with the 3 October written commitment

They have stated that the matter should be treated as a public health emergency, not a routine complaint.
