Golf course gets new momentum, second phase membership to begin soon

Noida: The construction of a state-of-the-art international golf course is progressing rapidly in the modern city of Noida in Uttar Pradesh. This world-class facility is being set up in Sector 151A, which certainly has the potential to become an attractive centre for sports lovers and enthusiasts. The authority claims that the second phase of membership of this ambitious project is likely to start within the next one month.

Membership will be based on first come first serve

A senior official of Noida Authority says, “This time the authority has set a target of making one thousand members. Membership will be given on the basis of first come first serve. After two-three issues were approved in the board meeting of Noida Authority held last week, the work on the golf course is expected to speed up. In the meeting, the board has approved the difference of about Rs 11 crore in the cost of this project. When its cost was fixed initially, it was less. Now more expenses were coming on the work. Apart from this, the authority can now spend money on its own work.”

Expense of Rs 52 crore

The officer explains that till now the rule was that its construction would be done only from the money coming from membership fee. Till now the authority has received about Rs 48 crore from membership fee, while the expenditure has come to Rs 52 crore. All the obstacles related to the golf course have been removed. Now it has been decided that a membership campaign should be started under the second phase. In this phase, the target has been set to make one thousand members. Whether the fee will remain the same or there will be a change, it will be decided soon after a meeting.
