Noida: Strengthening oversight of the gas distribution system, District Magistrate Medha Rupam carried out a surprise inspection at Shiv Sai HP Gas Agency located in Ghaghola village under Sadar tehsil. Several irregularities were found during the visit, prompting the DM to express strong displeasure and issue immediate corrective directions.
Detailed verification of stock and records
During the inspection, the DM conducted a physical verification of LPG cylinder stock, closely examining both quantity and capacity. She also reviewed multiple registers to assess whether records were properly maintained and regularly updated.
The delay by the warehouse in charge draws reprimand
The warehouse in charge of arriving late at the site drew sharp criticism from the DM. She reviewed staff attendance and functioning, making it clear that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.
Safety measures under scrutiny
The DM inspected vehicles used for cylinder transportation to check compliance with safety norms. CCTV cameras installed at the agency were also checked for functionality. Noting inadequate police presence, she directed the local police post in charge to immediately strengthen security arrangements and ensure continuous monitoring.
Emphasis on transparency and consumer convenience
After the inspection, the DM instructed officials and agency management to ensure transparency and safety in the gas distribution system. She stressed that all registers must be securely maintained and regularly updated to prevent inconvenience to consumers.
