Noida: A strict enforcement drive under Section 10 by the Noida Authority has triggered panic across the city. Property owners in sectors 28, 29, 37 and several other areas have received notices for alleged encroachment and unauthorised additional construction. The notices also warn of a possible ban on the sale and transfer of affected properties, leaving thousands of families deeply worried.
Reacting strongly to the sudden action, CONRWA (Noida Chapter) has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking immediate intervention. CONRWA President and senior advocate P S Jain has questioned the role of the authority and administration, asking where official monitoring was for the last 45 years when additional construction continued openly across Noida.

Jain has termed the abrupt crackdown a result of long-standing administrative negligence and systemic corruption. In the letter, CONRWA cautioned that issuing notices without a comprehensive and uniform policy will only fuel public anger and weaken trust in the government and the Noida Authority.
The residents’ body has demanded a city-wide survey of additional constructions, followed by a clear, practical and uniform policy to deal with violations. According to CONRWA, decisions should be rule-based and transparent so that ordinary citizens are not unfairly harassed.
Calling Noida the “show-window” of Uttar Pradesh, the organisation warned that fragmented and selective action could damage the city’s image. The issue, CONRWA said, is no longer limited to encroachment but has become a matter of accountability and public trust. All eyes are now on the Chief Minister’s Office for a decisive and balanced response.
