Noida: A meeting of the officials of the Confederation of NCR Resident Welfare Association (Regd.) was held in the Authority with ACEO Vandana Tripathi (IAS) regarding the problems related to the Horticulture Department. From the team of CONRWA, Advocates P.S. Jain, president, Rajiv Garg, General Secretary and Lokesh Kashyap, Co-convener were present.
Meeting was regarding a letter dated 26.05.2025 written by the organization about the height of trees in residential sectors and breaking of trees, disruption of power supply due to it, damage to vehicles and the possibility of loss of life and property, all the suggestions of the letter were appreciated by them.
In addition to the above points, the height of the trees should be a maximum of 20-25 feet, and they should be trimmed to create a canopy. This will enhance the beauty of the city, allowing citizens to breathe clean oxygen and maintain a clean environment. Trees of 40 to 45 feet in height neither provide oxygen improve the environment nor enhance the beauty of the city. Trees of higher height break in storms and break electricity wires due to which power supply stops and roads get blocked.
She was asked if there is any policy for horticulture, please provide a copy of it. The ACEO madam stated that there is no policy in place for this. The forest department sends a letter and action is taken on it. It is mentioned in some legal cases that trees should not be cut from such a height, we are only following that.
On the above subject, the delegation said that the Noida Development Authority is so many years old, that a concrete policy should have been made on this subject and made public. Which is not there yet. On this, the ACEO madam told the delegation that do you have any policy or any policy of the nearby state. So the chairman provided a copy of the notification of the policy of the neighbouring state to the honourable ACEO madam.
After reading it, ACEO Madam assured CONRWA that a policy would be made on the basis of this by discussing it with the concerned departments.
She also said that we know and want that trees of high height should be cut but cutting trees without resources can cause more damage. She assured that soon its policy will be made and made public and efforts will be made to beautify the city by arranging the resources and related vehicles that are needed and after that, there will be a reduction in the cases of trees falling, power supply getting disrupted, road blockage etc. during storms. The discussion was very fruitful and concluded cordially.
