Noida : Residents of sectors 119, 120 and 121 in Noida can expect improved road lighting following the approval and commencement of streetlight installation work, an initiative pursued by the Noida Highrise Federation (NHRF) in coordination with the Noida Authority. The Ganga water pipeline work in the sector has also been completed, according to the federation.
The streetlight project involves installing electricity poles and lights on both sides of the road connecting Central Market to the sectors. Once completed, the improved lighting is expected to make the route safer and more convenient for commuters travelling at night.
NHRF had raised civic issues with Noida Authority
According to NHRF, the federation had written to R. P. Singh, general manager (Water and Electricity) of the Noida Authority, on April 4, 2025, highlighting several infrastructure and civic issues affecting sectors 119, 120 and 121 and nearby residential societies.
The federation had also raised residents’ concerns with authority officials during a meeting held at Gaur Grandeur last year.
The issues included inadequate street lighting, water supply problems, maintenance of water infrastructure, drainage and rainwater harvesting, electricity supply and lighting in public parks.
Multiple infrastructure demands raised
Apart from streetlight installation and completion of the Ganga water pipeline, NHRF had sought action on several other issues affecting residents:
- Water supply: Regular water supply and proper maintenance of pumps.
- Underground reservoir cleaning: Cleaning of the underground water reservoir in Sector 119.
- Fountain installations: Proposed fountains at intersections near Eldeco Aamantran and RG Residency.
- Pump house inspection: Joint inspection of pump houses before the summer season.
- Rainwater harvesting: Cleaning of rainwater harvesting systems and measures to address waterlogging.
- Electricity supply: Work on feeder lines to improve the reliability of power supply.
- Park lighting: Improved lighting in parks maintained by the authority.
The federation had also requested timely intervention on water-related concerns and updates on the progress of the proposed works.
Nikhil Singhal highlights continued engagement
NHRF president Nikhil Singhal said the federation’s objective was not merely to raise complaints but to work continuously with the concerned authorities to secure solutions.
He said the approval of the streetlight project and commencement of work reflected sustained efforts and coordination with the Noida Authority. He also welcomed the completion of the Ganga water pipeline work, describing it as a relief for residents.
Singhal specifically acknowledged Namita Chaubey for her role in advancing the federation’s initiatives and residents’ concerns. He appreciated her cooperation, active participation and commitment to the collective efforts of NHRF.
He added that the federation would continue working towards resolving the remaining civic issues in the area.
Residents seek further action on pending issues
NHRF secretary Kapil Mehra said adequate street lighting, reliable water supply and a safe environment were essential for residents of the sectors and neighbouring residential societies.
He said the federation had consistently taken these concerns up with the Noida Authority and expressed satisfaction that streetlight installation had begun and the Ganga water pipeline work had been completed.
Mehra expressed hope that the authority would take positive action on the remaining demands at the earliest.
NHRF to continue raising residents’ concerns
Residents have welcomed the progress on street lighting and the Ganga water pipeline, appreciating the federation’s efforts to improve basic civic infrastructure.
NHRF reiterated its commitment to raising issues affecting sectors 119, 120 and 121 and other high-rise residential societies in Noida with the relevant authorities.
