Navy Day: Reunion of Naval officers marks the enthralling celebration of the Navy Day

Noida: The Jalvayu Vihar Community Centre, Sector 21, celebrated Navy Day on December 04, 2023, to commemorate ‘Operation Trident,’ the Navy’s audacious attack on Karachi harbour during the 1971 War.

Commodore Ravindra Nath, President, and his team received Mrs Sandhya Jha and Vice Admiral SK Jha VSM, AVSM and NM (Retd) ex-Chief Hydrographer.

A woman officer as the first commanding officer of a warship

Welcoming the chief guest, special invitees and distinguished gathering; Commodore Nath said that today, the Navy has appointed a woman officer as the first commanding officer of a warship.

Homage to all those who sacrificed their lives in 1971

The chief guest thanked the President for inviting him and Mrs Jha. He brought out the valour of defence services in liberating East Pakistan. He also paid homage to all those who sacrificed their lives in 1971.

Captivating performances by all age groups

A vibrant cultural programme compiled by Ira Joshi, Director of Entertainment, was a delight and the audience was entertained with Rajasthani, Kalbeliya Dance by Durga, Nandani and Kajal and Odissi dance by Sakshi and Anshu of Vicky’s troupe.

Alia on Saxophone steals the show

The gathering joined her in humming Bollywood songs as well a few members also danced to her tunes. At such a small age, Alia is doing wonders. She is working in various production houses. She returned from Mumbai on the very same day for this performance on Saxophone.

Vote of thanks

To encourage the participants, gifts and trophies were handed over by Mrs Sandhaya Jha, Ms Mallik and Mrs Madhu Nath. In the ‘vote of thanks’, CPO NC Sharma, Vice President thanked everyone for participating enthusiastically and appreciated for being part of the function. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

Scrumptious Dinner

The dinner was delectable, everyone enjoyed the tasty food. There was a proper arrangement of the Tea, Cappuccino, and Cookies to keep the shivering at bay.
