Mutilated body of dog found at Greater Noida West high-rise, FIR filed

A resident’s complaint led to the discovery of the disfigured body of a female community dog at a high-rise society in Greater Noida West on Thursday morning. Senior officers announced on Friday that police had filed a case at the Bisrakh police station against the unnamed individuals.

According to a senior official involved in the investigation, a FIR has been filed against unidentified individuals under sections 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) and 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cow, dog, etc.) of the Indian Penal Code.

The corpse was discovered at Ajnara Homes in Sector 16B, Greater Noida West, according to the police. The complaint claims that the female dog, who gave birth to seven puppies recently, was tossed from the high-rise’s fifteenth story. Representatives of the apartment owners’ organization (AOA) have refuted this, stating that it’s possible the cat slid and fell to its death.

The complainant, Keerti Verma, a society resident, stated that they learned of the incident on Thursday morning from one of the neighborhood dog feeders: “A female dog living inside the society was thrown to her death from the 15th (approximately) floor near Tower O.”

“The maintenance workers informed us that the body had been transported to the society’s waste area as we hurried to the scene. It was bloody and severely disfigured. We think this might be the work of some locals who frequently voice concerns about street pets,” Verma stated.

The Ajnara Homes AOA president, Chandan Sinha, stated that they are currently unsure if the dog was thrown or if it slid and fell.

“In search of food, street dogs frequently ascend to the 26th floor of the towers.” The canines frequently rip up the milk packages stored outdoors for the many residents who receive milk deliveries at home,” he claimed.

Sinha remarked, “We are assisting the police with their inquiry, but we cannot state anything for sure at this time.

According to a senior official involved in the investigation, a FIR has been filed against unidentified individuals under sections 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) and 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cow, dog, etc.) of the Indian Penal Code.

The officer stated, “We are looking through the society’s CCTV footage to learn more about the dog’s death.” The corpse has been submitted for an autopsy, and the report is being awaited.
