Noida: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly built Medanta Super-Speciality Hospital, a 550-bed advanced healthcare facility equipped with modern medical systems and specialized departments. The government hailed it as a “major boost” for the people of Noida, Delhi-NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh. But even as the celebrations continued, Lok Sabha candidate Naresh Nautiyal, Trustee Sanatan Nyas, raised tough and uncomfortable questions about the state of government healthcare in Noida.
‘The CM inaugurates private hospitals, but when will government hospitals be repaired or built?’ – Nautiyal
Naresh Nautiyal highlighted that Noida’s Sector-39 District Government Hospital has been struggling for years with poor maintenance, shortage of medicines, broken ceilings, dysfunctional lifts and an acute shortage of staff. Several safety-related incidents have also been reported in the past.
“The government comes every time to inaugurate private hospitals. But the real question people are asking is that when will government hospitals be built and when will the existing ones be fixed? Will the Chief Minister only inaugurate private institutions like Medanta or will he also provide affordable and dependable public healthcare to the people?”
Naresh Nautiyal, Lok Sabha Candidate
‘I suffered a panic attack and there wasn’t even a heart specialist in the government hospital’
Sharing his personal experience, Nautiyal said he suffered a panic attack some time ago. Recently, he faced another similar medical emergency. But at the Surajpur Police Commissionerate, there was neither a frustration kit nor any basic first-aid support. Eventually, he had to get treatment at Kailash Hospital.
Today, in Gautam Buddh Nagar, a common citizen practically has only two choices: they are either Kailash or Medanta. Why couldn’t hospitals like Yatharth or Sarvodaya be developed as public hospitals?

‘Will Medanta treat the poor for ₹1? If not, whom is this ‘big facility’ for?’
Nautiyal raised a pointed question:
Will Medanta treat the poor for ₹1? If not, whom is the government calling this a major facility for?”
Nautiyal
He argued that healthcare is the fundamental responsibility of the government, not a business model. Private hospitals are not the problem, he said but neglecting government hospitals is.
Direct question to the CM: ‘When will Noida get a government medical college?’
He asked the Chief Minister openly:
People want to know when Noida will get a new government medical college or a new government multi-speciality hospital? Will the CM show the same speed and urgency here as he does in inaugurating private hospitals?”

What Nautiyal has demanded from the government
He urged the state government to:
- Prioritise the repair and expansion of government hospitals
- Provide modern equipment and sufficient medical staff
- Ensure safe buildings, working lifts and 24×7 reliable services
- Reduce citizens’ dependence on expensive private healthcare
‘Healthcare is the government’s responsibility’
Concluding his remarks, Nautiyal said:
Private hospitals can offer services, but only government hospitals can ensure equality, safety and truly affordable care, if the government is willing
