Noida: Residents of Mahagun Modern Society in Sector-78 continued their protest for the 17th consecutive week, expressing strong resentment against the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) and the alleged illegal constructions taking place inside the society premises.

The protestors claim that the shops which were previously demolished by the Noida Authority have now been illegally reconstructed near Gate No. 4. This, they say, reflects gross administrative negligence and a clear violation of official orders.

Illegal Tin Sheds Raise Safety Concerns

Residents have also raised alarms over unauthorised tin sheds being built within the society. They argue that such structures are not only illegal but also pose a significant threat to safety, particularly in emergencies where access might be hindered.

Weekly Peaceful Demonstrations Continue

Every Sunday, residents gather for a peaceful protest demanding immediate action from the Noida Authority against these violations. They allege that the inaction of the authority and the arbitrary actions of the AOA are causing immense harassment to the residents.

If the authority cannot enforce its demolition orders, how can it control AOA’s illegal activites.

Call for Transparency in AOA Elections

In addition to the issue of illegal constructions, residents are also demanding transparency in the society’s AOA election process. They insist that until the unchecked behaviour of the AOA is addressed and illegal structures are permanently removed, their protest will continue.

Residents have appealed to the Noida Authority to intervene immediately and uphold the rule of law, civic order, and democratic functioning within residential societies.
