Noida: Residents of Mahadev Apartment in Sector 73 have written to the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar seeking intervention over the upcoming society election scheduled for March 7. In their representation addressed to the District Magistrate, residents have flagged serious concerns regarding the election process. They stated that the last date for filing nominations was February 28, but not a single nomination was submitted.

Voter list discrepancies raised

Residents have also raised concerns over discrepancies in the voter list prepared for the election. According to the complaint:

  • Only around 400 voters have been included in the current voter list.
  • The society has more than 1,200 eligible voters.
  • In the previous election, approximately 850 voters were listed.

The sharp reduction in the number of registered voters has raised doubts among residents about the transparency and fairness of the electoral process.

Demand for a fresh election process

Citing these irregularities, residents have requested the administration to cancel the current election schedule and restart the entire process afresh. They have also urged authorities to ensure that a revised and comprehensive voter list is prepared before proceeding further.

Request to change the polling date

Additionally, residents have appealed for the polling day to be shifted from Saturday to Sunday. They argue that conducting elections on a Sunday would allow greater participation, ensuring that more residents are able to cast their votes. The matter now awaits administrative review, with residents hoping for prompt intervention to ensure a transparent and participatory election process at Mahadev Apartment in Sector 73, Noida.
