A Moment Of Panic: Imagine going through security and suddenly realising your boarding pass is missing. This can cause panic, but the solution is easier than most travelers think.

Approach Airline Staff Immediately: Anuradha Suresh, Retired Senior Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Air India, told The Indian Express: “Show your booking reference or PNR and valid ID to reprint your boarding pass.”

Time Required For A Duplicate: She explained, “It may take some time, but it shouldn’t be a major issue if you follow the process.”

International Flights Too: “For international travelers, your ticket and ID are enough. Mobile or email boarding passes also work,” Anuradha told the publication.

Domestic Flight Steps: Passengers should contact gate staff or airline help desks inside the secure area. After ID verification, a duplicate boarding pass is issued, the report said.

Security May Validate The Pass: “Sometimes security staff may need to re-stamp or validate the reprinted boarding pass before boarding,” Anuradha told The Indian Express.

Extra Checks For International Travelers: She added, “Airlines check passports and boarding records. Some airports coordinate with immigration before issuing a duplicate.”

Don’t Leave The Security Area: “Do not leave the security zone unless instructed. Re-entering may require full security screening again,” Anuradha also stated.

Keep Calm And Follow Rules: “Losing a boarding pass is an inconvenience, not the end of your journey. Stay calm, inform staff and follow SOPs,” the former Air India employee mentioned.

Digital Passes Help:“Boarding passes saved in mobile apps or emails can replace lost physical passes, making travel smoother,” she added.
