Kriti Sanon calls out male actors for declining small roles; acknowledges Shah Rukh Khan’s impact in ‘Dear Zindagi’ | Hindi Movie News

Kriti Sanon recently sat down to discuss her experiences working with Kareena Kapoor and Tabu, as well as gender disparities in Bollywood. In the interview, she didn’t shy away from calling out producers and male actors.
Kriti Sanon criticized male actors for declining small yet impactful roles in female-led projects. “Female actors have often supported many films where they agree to do small yet impactful roles, but not many male actors do the same,” the actress told Zoom and added, “There are times when the impact of the female character is maybe 60 percent and the male part is about 40 percent in the script, the male co-star says “Isko flip kar de?’
However, Kriti did acknowledge credit where it was due! The National Award-winning actress praised Shah Rukh Khan for being one of the few male superstars to embrace such roles.”Shah Rukh Khan has done a smaller yet impactful role in Dear Zindagi and he brought in so much gravitas to that role.”
Shah Rukh Khan played a psychologist in the 2016 film ‘Dear Zindagi’, where the main focus remained on Alia Bhatt‘s character.
Kriti Sanon is currently enjoying the success of her films ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ and ‘Crew,’ both performing exceptionally well at the box office. Additionally, the actress, who recently launched her own production house, Blue Butterfly Films, will produce and star in the company’s debut film titled ‘Do Patti.’ This mystery film, scheduled for release on OTT, will also star Kajol.
