Noida : A major breakthrough has been achieved in Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious Jewar International Airport project. Official sources indicate that the airport’s construction has been completed and preparations for its inauguration and flight operations are now in the final stage. Once flight services begin, Jewar Airport will become Uttar Pradesh’s fifth international airport. The project is being hailed as a major economic booster for Noida, Greater Noida and the entire Yamuna belt.

“The airport is ready,” says Avnish Awasthi
Momentum picked up after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s advisor, Avnish Kumar Awasthi, shared a post on the social media platform X. Along with the post, a 3 minute 43 second video was released showcasing the fully developed airport infrastructure. The visuals clearly show that Jewar Airport is ready for inauguration. Following this update, attention has now shifted to the announcement of the official inauguration date.
Speed increases after CM Yogi’s review
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently visited Noida to review the progress of Jewar Airport. During the review meeting, he directed officials to complete all remaining formalities without delay. Later, while speaking to the media in Lucknow after the Union Budget 2026, the Chief Minister hinted that the airport could be inaugurated in February, possibly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, an official confirmation on the date is still awaited.
Earlier, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) Additional CEO Shailendra Kumar Bhatia had confirmed that the airport construction is 100 per cent complete. According to him, security audits are in the final phase and the aerodrome license process has reached a decisive stage.
He also stated that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has invited the Prime Minister for the inauguration and once the date is finalised, flight operations will begin immediately after the opening ceremony.
Jewar airport to redefine the region’s future
Jewar Airport is fast emerging as more than just an aviation project. Spread across nearly 3,000 acres, it is becoming a key driver of economic growth in the Yamuna Authority region. Real estate demand has surged, property prices have risen sharply and the impact is being felt up to Agra. Investments in industries, logistics, warehousing and employment opportunities are also increasing rapidly. At the same time, focus on roads, expressways and connectivity projects has intensified. The Jewar Airport corridor is now being viewed as a premium growth zone that is set to transform the economic landscape of western Uttar Pradesh.
