JEE Main: Twin brothers Mahroof Ahmed Khan and Masroor Ahmed Khan from Bhubaneswar, Odisha have scored an identical 285 out of 300 marks in the JEE Main 2026 Session-1 exam. This is an extremely rare achievement, as both brothers followed the same study schedule and strategy to achieve the same marks.
Both brothers have been preparing for the JEE for the past five years and have trained with top coaching institutes in Kota. Their performance has inspired competitive students across the country.
Studying together with the same goal
Mahroof and Masroor both studied in the same school and during their studies, they cleared doubts together and followed the same timetable and study plan. They believe that healthy competition enhanced their preparation. Mahroof stated that there was always healthy competition between the brothers, which helped them achieve identical marks.
Apart from studies, olympiad experience also helped
The brothers have been active not only in JEE but also in national and international olympiad competitions, where they won nearly 30 gold medals. This experience contributed to their Continued to strengthen basic skills and confidence.
Big Goals – BTech from IIT and then IAS
After an outstanding performance in JEE Main, the two brothers are now focused on the next challenge, JEE Advanced, which will secure them admission to IIT. Mahroof’s specific goal is to pursue BTech (Computer Science) at IIT Bombay.
Beyond that, their ultimate ambition is to become IAS officers — that is, after engineering, they plan to prepare for the civil services to serve the nation.
Major Contribution of Parents
Behind the success of these brothers is the significant contribution of their mother, Dr. Zeenat Begum. When both started preparing for engineering, the mother even gave up her government job and moved with the children from Odisha to Kota, taking complete care of their studies and meals.
