Noida : A shocking incident took place in Noida on the day of Holi when a 39-year-old man was shot dead inside Ivy County, Sector 75. The firing took place while residents were celebrating the festival of colours. The sudden gunshot created panic in the society and the atmosphere of celebration quickly turned into shock and grief.
The incident happened during holi celebration
The incident reportedly took place around 4 pm on Wednesday. At that time, people in the society were celebrating Holi. Suddenly, a gunshot was heard, which created chaos in the area. Residents rushed towards the spot to see what had happened. The victim has been identified as Sahil Singhal, a property dealer who lived in the same society with his family. After the incident, he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead.
A love relationship is suspected behind the dispute
According to the initial police investigation, Sahil Singhal was in a relationship with a woman for nearly four years. The woman is said to be a resident of Ghaziabad. On the day of Holi, the woman came to meet Sahil in the society along with her brothers. During the meeting, an argument reportedly started between them. The dispute soon became serious and during the argument, one of the woman’s brothers allegedly took out a pistol and shot Sahil.
The victim had been allowed entry into society
Police investigation has revealed that Sahil himself had allowed the woman and the people accompanying her to enter the society. They reportedly met in the market area of the society where the argument started. During the argument, the accused fired at Sahil, which left him seriously injured. After the firing, people present nearby got scared and there was panic in the area.
Four people were detained by the police
After receiving information about the incident police from Sector 113 police station reached the spot and started an investigation. Police have detained four people, including the woman and they are being questioned in connection with the case. A murder case has been registered based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family.
Family in shock
Sahil Singhal was married and had two children. His death has left the family in deep shock. The incident has also shocked residents of the society as the firing happened during Holi celebrations.
Police investigating the case
Police officials said that the case is being investigated in detail. Further action will be taken after the post mortem report and other evidence are examined. Initial investigation suggests that a personal dispute related to the alleged relationship may have led to the murder.
