Key dates
- The last date to submit online applications for the JAM test is October 13, 2023.
- Admit cards for the JAM 2024 exam will be made available for candidates on January 8, 2024.
- The JAM 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on February 11, 2024.
- The expected date for declaration of results is March 22, 2024.

There are about 3,000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year 2024-25.

Exam pattern
The JAM 2024 Exam includes SEVEN subjects, known as Test Papers: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). The medium of the exam will be English.

Female/ SC / ST / PwD:
- Fee Amount for One Test Paper: Rs. 900
- Fee Amount for Two Test Papers: Rs. 1250
All others:
- Fee Amount for One Test Paper: Rs. 1800
- Fee Amount for Two Test Papers: Rs. 2500

How to apply for IIT JAM 2024 test
Step 1: Visit the official website at- Go to jam.iitm.ac.in.
Step 2: Access the portal- Click on the “JOAPS portal” on the homepage.
Step 3: Start application- Select “Apply for JAM 2024.”
Step 4: Registration- Register by providing the required details.
Step 5: Login- Use your enrolment ID and password to log in.
Step 6: Form completion- Fill out the application form, upload images, and make the necessary fee payment.
Step 7: Submission- Review your application, then submit it. Don’t forget to save a printout for future reference.
