IGNOU JAT Result 2023: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released the final results for the Junior Assistant-cum-Typist (JAT) recruitment exam in 2023. The exam took place on July 31, 2023, and the skill test occurred on September 19, 2023.
The results are accessible on the official NTA website at https://recruitment.nta.nic.in. Candidates can check their results by entering their login details. It’s important to note that the results are provisional and subject to document verification.
The NTA notification stated, “The results and the candidature of candidates are provisional. Final confirmation will depend on the verification of documents and meeting all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure.”
It further added, “The results for the mentioned posts have been prepared carefully. However, if any errors occur unintentionally, the National Testing Agency has the authority to correct them.”

Earlier, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) had invited online applications for the recruitment of the non-teaching post of Junior Assistant cum Typist (JAT) from eligible candidates. The vacancies for this recruitment are distributed across various categories as follows: 83 positions for the General (UR) category, 29 positions for Scheduled Castes (SC), 12 positions for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 55 positions for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 21 positions for candidates in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category. In total, there are 200 vacancies to be filled across these categories.
The pay scale for this position falls under Pay Matrix (19900-63200), corresponding to Level 02 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
The examination scheme included a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted in bilingual (Hindi/English) format by NTA. Based on the CBT, a merit list was prepared aiming to qualify ten times the number of candidates as the number of vacancies. The test comprised multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with the following components:
• General Awareness (30 questions, 30 marks)
• Reasoning and General Intelligence (30 questions, 30 marks)
• Mathematical Abilities (30 questions, 30 marks)
• Hindi/English Language and Comprehension (30 questions, 30 marks)
• Computer Knowledge Module (30 questions, 30 marks)
The total number of questions and marks available were both 150. Additionally, extra time was provided to PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates in line with the norms of the Government of India.
In Tier II, candidates who had qualified in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) of Tier I were required to undergo a skill (Typing) test. This test could be conducted in either Hindi or English language and was of a qualifying nature, contingent upon achieving a minimum qualifying speed as specified in the advertisement.
