Greater Noida West : A growing public safety issue looms over Techzone 4 as parents and residents raise alarm over severe dust pollution and crumbling roads near a cluster of prominent schools. The area, home to five major institutions Sarvottam International, The Shri Ram Universal, Pacific World School, Ryan International, and J M International — sees heavy student footfall every morning and afternoon.
With no footpaths, no cycle tracks, and broken road surfaces, the stretch has effectively turned into a danger zone. Thick dust clouds kicked up by traffic hang in the air throughout the day, raising serious health concerns for young children. Many students are forced to walk along the edge of busy roads, just inches from fast-moving vehicles.
The situation is worsened by roadside encroachments fruit vendors, food stalls, and indiscriminately parked cars and school buses clog the narrow roadways, leaving little space for safe pedestrian movement. Visibility is poor, and navigation for both vehicles and walkers is increasingly treacherous.
One of the most alarming issues is the constant passage of heavy trucks and dumpers ferrying construction materials during school hours. Residents say these large vehicles, operating during peak timings, are a looming threat and could lead to tragic accidents if not stopped.
Residents and parent groups are demanding immediate action from the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration. Their key demands include:
- A complete ban on heavy vehicles between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM in the school zone
- Urgent road repair and resurfacing
- Implementation of dust suppression measures
- Removal of all roadside encroachments
- Deployment of traffic personnel during school timings
Parents fear that without swift intervention, the area could soon witness a preventable disaster. What should be a secure corridor for education has turned into a corridor of risk, one that urgently needs the attention of civic and traffic authorities.
