Greater Noida West: There is good news for the people connected to Noida and Greater Noida West. The residents of this place will now get relief from jams and autos. Noida Authority has started preparations to run e-buses between Noida and Greater Noida. Midi buses will run here soon. At present, the people of the city depend on autos, cabs, and e-rickshaws. After the start of the PM e-bus service scheme, Noida residents will get better connectivity to public transport. Along with this, pollution will also decrease.
50 buses will be operated
Under the PM e-bus service scheme, 9-meter-long midi buses will be run on the routes of Noida-Greater Noida. In the initial phase, there is a plan to put 50 buses on roads. An important feature of this project is that the entire cost of bus operation will be borne by the operating company. There has been a long process behind the start of this scheme. It is worth noting that two months ago a program was organized under the chairmanship of Manoj Kumar Singh, Chairman of Noida-Greater Noida Authority, in which various companies presented their proposals. After this, many companies also brought their proposals to the authority office. However, there are some challenges in this project.
Role of Noida Authority
The role of the Noida Authority will be important in this project. They will finalize the bus stops, parking lots, routes and bus depots. Showing sensitivity towards the environment, these buses will run on electricity. For this, special charging stations will be arranged at the city bus terminal. A major goal of this scheme is to cover the route from Noida to Greater Noida West. This service will prove to be a boon for the population of about 4 lakh of Greater Noida West, where currently only auto rickshaws are available in the name of public transport.
Work continues on the new model
This scheme is not like before when 50 AC buses were operated between Noida and Greater Noida. That service was stopped in March 2020 due to the Corona epidemic and was later completely discontinued due to excessive losses. Now, the Noida Authority is working on a new model where they will provide only the infrastructure while the bus operators will have to find their sources of income.
