Panic gripped Ace City society in Greater Noida West on Saturday morning after a woman and her young son fell from the 13th-floor balcony of their apartment. Both died instantly.
Police identified the victims as a 37-year-old homemaker and her 11-year-old son, Daksh, who was undergoing long-term treatment for a neurodevelopmental disorder. The woman’s husband, a chartered accountant, had left for work earlier in the day, leaving his wife and their only child behind.
According to neighbours, the morning calm was shattered by sudden screams. Residents rushed out to find the mother and child lying in a pool of blood in the society’s common area.
It was horrifying. We couldn’t believe what we saw.

Investigators later recovered a handwritten note from the family’s apartment. Addressed to her husband, it read: “We are leaving this world… sorry. We don’t want to trouble you anymore. Nobody is responsible for our death.”

Police sources said Daksh had not been attending school and remained dependent on medication for years. The family had also turned to spiritual remedies, but his condition did not improve. Officers believe the child’s prolonged illness may have left the mother deeply distressed.
The family hails from Uttarakhand. For now, residents of Ace City are left shaken, struggling to come to terms with a tragedy that unfolded in broad daylight within their community.
