Greater Noida West: Residents of Greater Noida West are bearing the brunt of civic apathy as an unofficial dumping ground continues to fester in the heart of a densely populated residential area. The stretch from Rise Police Chowki to Char Murti Chowk along LN Mishra Marg has turned into a mini-landfill, strewn with garbage that has remained unattended for weeks.

No action from GNIDA yet

The foul stench, unhygienic surroundings, and looming health hazards have left residents angry and anxious. Despite repeated complaints to the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), no significant action has been taken so far.

The neglect is shocking. The garbage wasn’t removed — it was simply pushed to the side of the road as a cosmetic measure.

Sheer civic negligence, Grievances unheard

This isn’t the first time the community has raised alarm bells over civic negligence. According to residents, multiple attempts to reach GNIDA officials via tweets, calls, and formal complaints have gone unanswered. Officials have yet to visit the site, and no statement had been issued until the media intervened.

A recent incident exposed the ongoing violation

Lalit Fulara, a resident of ACE Aspire Society, reportedly caught staff from Mama Restaurant red-handedly dumping waste at the site. Yet, no penal action has followed.

Meanwhile, local eateries and roadside vendors continue to dispose of garbage openly, turning the once-busy road into a semi-permanent dumping zone.

Health Concerns Mount as Monsoon Nears

With the rainy season approaching, residents fear the stagnant waste will become a breeding ground for diseases such as dengue, malaria, and other vector-borne illnesses. The deteriorating condition of the road is not only a public health risk but also severely damages the image of Greater Noida West — an area once marketed as a modern, premium urban township.

Residents Demand Cleanup — GNIDA Promises Action

Frustrated and fed up, residents are now preparing to intensify their protest if no concrete steps are taken. Public demonstrations and state-level media escalation are being considered as the next course of action.

Apartment Times contacted R.K. Bharti, Deputy General Manager (Health Department), GNIDA. In response, Bharti assured that the cleanup operation would commence tomorrow and that the entire stretch would be cleared, sanitised, and restored.

We will begin the cleanup work tomorrow. The dump yard will be removed, and proper sanitation measures will follow.

Will Words Turn into Action?

Residents remain cautiously optimistic, hoping this assurance translates into visible, sustained action. For now, the citizens of Greater Noida West are watching closely — and waiting.
