Water shortage in Panchsheel Hynish, Angry Residents March to protest

Greater Noida West: Noida is considered to be a world-class city in Uttar Pradesh, but there are a few problems in this city that a major population faces daily. Some chronic issues are registry not getting done, loopholed structures, acute power shortage many times and a severe shortage of water supply.

Yes, there are times when the residents of Noida cry for a single drop of water. A recent case is that of the Panchsheel Hynish Society located in Sector-1 of Greater Noida West where the residents are troubled by the water shortage. Residents allege they are not getting sufficient water even after paying huge maintenance charges. Allegations of water shortages have been made in the last two weeks more strongly.

‘Builders do not want to pay the water charges to the authority’

Society residents allege that the builder has taken a water supply connection from the Greater Noida Authority but has not taken it as per the capacity. To increase the connection capacity, an additional amount will have to be paid to the authority, which the builder does not want to pay. Residents also allege that the builder was earlier illegally exploiting groundwater, which has been sealed after a raid and a fine of around Rs 2 crore has also been imposed.

Society residents reached the maintenance office to complain but apart from an electrician, no staff was available in the maintenance office. Residents allege that the situation remains the same almost daily, with no one except an electrician or a plumber available for maintenance at night. When the residents called the society maintenance in charge, he said that there was a problem with the water supply from the authority side. Residents claim that Greno authority is saying that there is no problem from their side.
