Greater Noida West: No proper arrangements for the final rites, Cremation ground looking for its development since ages

Greater Noida West: The population is rising at super speed same way the demands are also rising, but the supply is on such a verge which is not sufficient. The day-by-day increasing population is not getting the basic needs and facilities either. The administration has failed to cater to the basic needs of the common citizens of Greater Noida West.

In all the counts of hindrances in development, it is very sad to know that the place for final and last rites, is looking to get some development since ages. unfortunately, the Greater Noida Authority has failed in this too.

Greater Noida Authority just constructed it near the Hindon River by making four platforms and giving it the shape of a cremation ground, but it forgot that everything needs to be taken care of.
Due to zero maintenance, it has been converted into a dump yard

Due to availability, the residents of Greater Noida West are forced to move to the cremation ground situated at sector 94 to perform the last rites peacefully.

Population of more than 5 lakh, but still no development

Greater Noida West is the residential area with the societies, villages and sectors where more than 5 lakh people are living their daily lives. Despite this, there is no cremation ground.

Residents have been pleading for many years, that at least give us a neat clean place for this purpose. understanding their pain. Tejpal Nagar the MLA of Dadri also demanded from the authorities a better and maintained cremation ground, but everything is going unheard.

Condition of the cremation ground

The condition is very deplorable, there is no wood available for burning the pyre. There are lots of wild grass and plants scattered all over. The residents are forced to move 10 km to bid goodbye to their loved ones.

Residents share their pains

Dinkar Pandey, Resident of Ajnara Homes says, “More than 200 societies have been formed in Greater Noida West. Naturally, births/deaths have also increased in the same proportion.
According to the population of one million, in the present situation, on average, arrangements for the cremation of 20-25 dead people should be made daily only for the new society.
But the situation is such that even the old cremation grounds built in the village are shedding tears over their deaths.”

He continues, ” Demands have been made several times in the past through letters, public hearings and meetings, assurances have been received but till now nothing has been seen on the ground. In Noida, the limit was crossed in covid with 50, to 60 dead bodies reaching every day, where the limit was only for the 15-20 dead bodies. Due to this, not only waiting time increase, the pain also becomes unbearable to the family.”

Ranjana Suri Bhardwaj, Resident of Supertech Eco Village 1 and Vice President of Nefowa says, “Greno West is the area which has been neglected in all respect. Seems thousands of families are Just a vote bank for Government. This should be prime priority of Government if any Region is densely populated, then facilities should be given. “
She continues, ” I don’t understand what’s the use of zero maintained cremation ground. If Ground is not developed properly it means it’s just eye wash for public. People were asking since long for this Cremation Ground but unfortunately seems it was just lollypop for People just like other basic needs in greater noida west.”

She adds, “This is prime responsibility of our Delegates to see what is the requirement of People of Greno. Unfortunately Public always get fake promises, now it has become trend nowadays.”

Rahul Garg, resident of Hawelia Valencia Homes and Vice President of Nefowa says, “This cremation ground is of Bisrakh village, despite several written requests to the government and administration, people are forced to go to Noida or Ghaziabad, several kilometers away from here, because the government and administration are not paying any attention here. To provide basic amenities to the residents of Greater Noida West.”

Kapil Khare, resident of Nirala Greenshire says,” It’s been 10 years since Noida Extension was settled but even today there is a lack of basic facilities. It is useless to talk about the living people. The administration has not even done anything for the dead. There is no point in talking about the death of people. People have to go to Noida to perform the last rites and there they get the Mrityu certificate.”

Sameer Bhardwaj, Resident of Supertech Eco Village 1 and Vice President of Nefowa says, ” Greater Noida West should have a modern CNG cremation ground. Atleast the final goodbye should be not painful or a worry that how we will do it.”

Jyoti Jaiswal, Resident of Supertech Eco Village 2 and Vice President of Nefowa says, “There is nothing in Greater Noida. The leaders here don’t have time to pay attention and understand the needs of the residents. There is no home to live in and no cremation ground when you die. All the homebuyers are forced to live in this situation. The only cremation ground is near the Hindon River that too is also not maintained properly. Make arrangements for houses and ghats.”

Rahul Raj, Resident of Raksha Addela Gaur City2 says, “According to the 2011 census, there was more than 1 lakh population and today in 11 years there is more than 2 lakh population, it is about 30 to 50 people die on average every day and there is no proper arrangement for its cremation, every time a special authority has been given by the administration to which a memorandum has also been given by the honorable MLA but still the authority does not care. Despite such a population, people here have to depend on the crematorium of Sector 94 or have to move towards Ghaziabad, where sometimes they have to wait long. For this, it is necessary to have a cremation place.”
