Greater Noida: Big update regarding the metro in GrNo West, Sector-61 will be a joint station for DMRC and NMRC

NOIDA : To provide public transportation services to five lakh people in Greater Noida West, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation management has taken a major decision. The Aqua Line Metro will be expanded soon. The new route will be laid from Noida Sector-61 to Sector-4 Gaur Chowk located in Gréno West.

Currently, this route is proposed up to Knowledge Park Five, which has already been approved by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet to be constructed in two phases. However, this route became an obstacle for the NMRC’s RRTS Namo Rail on its way from Ghaziabad to the Noida International Airport in Jewar, which the central government did not approve.

As a result, residents of all societies in Gréno West have not been able to access public transportation so far. But now, the NMRC management is talking about making several changes regarding this route. If the Aqua Line is expanded from the Blue Line Metro located at Sector-61 to only Gréno West’s Kisan Chowk, i.e., Sector-4 Gaur Chowk, and linked with the RRTS line, then the Aqua Metro service will reach 113 group housing societies in Gréno West. Five lakh people living in the housing society can be benefited by providing public transportation facilities. Four stations can be built in this, with Sector-61 being the common station. That is, it will be a joint station of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and NMRC. It will be developed in the manner of a junction.

Noida Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director Krishna Karunesh said that this is a part of the metro from Knowledge Park-5 approved by the UP Cabinet, but it will connect an RRTS at Sector-4 station of Greater Noida West. This will relieve people from the traffic jams that occur in Greater Noida West.

People will get Aqua Metro services under the name of better public transport. Additionally, there will be connectivity to Noida Airport. Since the RRTS will run from Sarai Kale Khan to Greater Noida West Sector-4 and then to Knowledge Park-5, it will connect to the proposed RRTS from Ghaziabad at Knowledge Park-5. This will make it easier to go to Noida Airport, which is being constructed in Jewar.
