Greater Noida: Despite crores of rupees being allocated to private contractors for sanitation work, large parts of Greater Noida continue to grapple with filth and garbage accumulation. According to local residents, the Health Department and Greater Noida Authority officials have failed to ensure that the contractors carry out cleaning as per their assigned areas.

The situation has become so severe that the QRT (Quick Response Team), which was originally formed to handle emergency cleaning in areas without active sanitation tenders, is now being deployed for regular cleaning duties in several sectors.

Residents question why the contractors, who have already been awarded multi-crore tenders, are not fulfilling their responsibilities.

If crores have been paid for sanitation, then why is the QRT team doing the contractors’ job? This clearly shows negligence and poor monitoring by the authorities.

Locals have urged the Greater Noida Authority to take strict action against the defaulting contractors and ensure that the sanitation work is carried out regularly and efficiently in all sectors.
