Greater Noida: On receiving complaints from the Active Citizen Team regarding waterlogging in Sector Beta-1 and nearby areas, ACEO Lakshmi VS promptly took cognisance and directed DGM Rajeev Dixit and Civil Manager Kanupriya Srivastava to inspect the site.

During the inspection, DGM Dixit observed that the drainage pipeline is very old and choked with silt, which is obstructing the flow of water and causing waterlogging. He suggested removing the existing underground pipe drainage and instructed that an estimate be prepared for constructing open drains along the 24-meter and 18-meter roads.
He also found sewer overflow at several locations in the sector and warned the sewer department officials to resolve the issue immediately, failing which, strict penalties would be imposed.
Harendra Bhati from the Active Citizen Team stated that where open drains were constructed earlier, waterlogging issues were resolved. He recommended that similar solutions be implemented on the main roads as well.
