Greater Noida: Amid severe cold and dense fog gripping the region, the Greater Noida Authority has undertaken a commendable humanitarian initiative to support destitute and homeless individuals taking shelter in night shelters across the city.

At the night shelter located in Sector Delta-2, the Authority arranged tea, biscuits, mathri and laddoos for people seeking refuge from the harsh weather conditions. This timely assistance provided much-needed warmth and comfort to those battling the biting cold.

In addition, near the night shelter close to Pari Chowk, the Authority made arrangements for two trolley-loads of firewood to keep bonfires burning, ensuring protection against the freezing temperatures. Officials of the Greater Noida Authority stated that sufficient firewood would be made available as required so that no one suffers due to the cold.

The Greater Noida Authority has set up multiple night shelters at various locations across the city to safeguard vulnerable individuals during the winter season. This thoughtful and compassionate effort has been widely appreciated by locals and beneficiaries alike, who expressed their gratitude to the Authority officials for their continuous support and concern.

Following the District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar’s surprise inspection of night shelters yesterday, instructions were issued to replace floor bedding arrangements with proper beds for people resting at night. In compliance with these directions, folding and wooden beds have now been installed at the Sector Delta-2 Community Centre night shelter, Pari Chowk night shelter and the P-3 Community Centre, among other locations.

After ensuring adequate arrangements for drinking water and other basic facilities, District Magistrate Ms. Medha Roopam was informed of the developments through photographs. The District Magistrate highly appreciated the efforts of social worker and Beta-1 RWA General Secretary, Mr. Harendra Bhati, and lauded his contribution towards improving facilities at the night shelters.
