
Noida : Under the guidance of the Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Smt. Laxmi Singh, the 28th Inter-District Police Volleyball and Sepak Takraw (Men/Women) Competition-2025, was inaugurated today, October 13, 2025, at the sports ground of Reserve Police Lines, Gautam Buddh Nagar, covering the Meerut Zone.
The opening ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Shri Ajay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters). Also present were Shri Ravishankar Nim (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Headquarters), Shailendra Kumar Singh (Organizing Secretary/Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lines), Praveen Ranjan Singh (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic), Twinkle Jain (Co-Organizing Secretary/Assistant Commissioner of Police, Lines), Hemant Upadhyay (Assistant Commissioner of Police, RTC Training), along with other officials. The event was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Sunil Bhardwaj (Nagpur).
Men’s Volleyball Results – October 13, 2025:
- Gautam Buddh Nagar defeated Hapur 2-0 in the opening match.
- Saharanpur defeated Muzaffarnagar 2-0 in the second match.
- Bagpat advanced automatically as Shamli did not participate in the third match.
- Meerut defeated Bulandshahr 2-0 in the fourth match.
- Saharanpur defeated Bagpat 2-0 in the quarterfinal to enter the semifinals.
Men’s Sepak Takraw Results – October 13, 2025:
- Muzaffarnagar defeated Ghaziabad 2-0 in the opening match.
- Bulandshahr advanced automatically as Shamli did not participate in the second match.
- Saharanpur defeated Gautam Buddh Nagar 2-0 in the third match.
- Muzaffarnagar defeated Bulandshahr 2-0 in the fourth match.
- Bagpat defeated Hapur 2-0 in the fifth match.
- In the first semifinal, Meerut defeated Muzaffarnagar 2-0 to enter the final.
- In the second semifinal, Bagpat defeated Saharanpur 2-0 to enter the final.
On October 14, 2025, matches for the Women’s Volleyball and Sepak Takraw categories will begin at 8:00 AM, followed by the Men’s Volleyball semifinals in the evening: Ghaziabad vs. Saharanpur (1st semifinal) and Meerut vs. Gautam Buddh Nagar (2nd semifinal).
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar encouraged the players, highlighting that sports not only promote physical and mental fitness but also help recognize hidden talents within the police force and nurture them to achieve higher levels of excellence.
