Greater Noida West: Eros Sampoornam has become the epicentre of a growing movement that symbolises the fight for consumer rights in urban India. For the sixth consecutive week, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, residents once again gathered in large numbers outside the Eros sales office, demanding solutions to long-pending grievances.

What began as a fight for basic amenities has now turned into a larger movement, drawing the attention of the media, the administration, and even the legal system.

The timeline of resistance

First Week: Residents submitted a memorandum to Estate Manager Babish, outlining their issues and seeking dialogue. Instead of addressing concerns, the higher management outrightly rejected their demands.

Second Week: The residents escalated their protest by filing a complaint at Sector-3 Police Chowki, citing illegal practices and exploitation by the builder.

Third Week: Under pressure, the builder promised a meeting with residents. However, no such meeting has taken place to date, neither the local management nor representatives from the Nehru Place head office shown up.

Fourth & Fifth Weeks: The silence of the builder further fueled the residents’ anger. The protest became more organised, with wider participation from families, women, and senior citizens.

Sixth Week: A massive gathering of residents, including senior citizens, women, youth, and children, stood united in peaceful protest outside the Eros sales office. Their collective voice sent a powerful message: We will not back down until justice is delivered.

The core demands of residents

1. Removal of VCAM Charges – Residents allege this fee is illegal and an unjust financial burden.

2. DG Power Crisis – Frequent power cuts and unreliable DG backup have made life unbearable.

3. Water Shortages – Several towers face irregular water supply.

4. Poor Maintenance Services – Despite hefty charges, lifts, security, and sanitation remain in deplorable condition.

The Legal Battle

The conflict has now entered the legal arena. On August 2, 2025, a notice under BNNS 126/135 was served to some residents, based on a report by Sector-3 Chowki Incharge Ajay Kumar Singh. Residents strongly contest the notice, calling the report false and misleading, an attempt to weaken the movement. They submitted evidence-backed representations to the Executive Magistrate, Central Noida-2.The next court hearing is scheduled for August 22, 2025, a date that holds crucial importance for the outcome of this struggle.

Voices from the Ground

Senior Citizens: Held placards in silence, symbolising resilience and dignity.

Women Residents: Stood firm with the slogan “Not anymore”, vowing to fight until demands are met.

Children: Raised slogans like “Give us water, give us power”, bringing a poignant reminder that this struggle impacts future generations.

This is not just about a builder. It is about the consumer rights, dignity and justice. We are fighting for our children’s future.

The protest has started resonating beyond the society walls. Several news channels covered the demonstration live, amplifying residents’ voices. On social media, hashtags like #ErosSamproornamProtest, #GreaterNoidaWestResidents, #ConsumerRights trended, giving the issue wider visibility.

Residents have vowed that if the builder still refuses to engage in dialogue, the protests will continue. The next gathering is scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025, potentially the seventh week of protest.

Message –

No matter how much pressure is put on us, this movement will continue until our rightful demands are met.”*
