Eros Sampoornam : Residents demands justice, Builder remains silent

If no resolution is reached in the coming days, residents plan to escalate the protest further. A formal letter has already been sent to the District Magistrate, informing about a larger public protest scheduled for August 3. This time, they say, the protest will not be limited to society boundaries.

Greater Noida West: For the third consecutive Sunday, the Eros Sampoornam Society in Greater Noida West echoed with chants demanding justice, as residents continued their peaceful protest against the builder and society management. From senior citizens to young mothers and school-going children, hundreds of residents have united with a single voice — seeking basic amenities and accountability.

What began as scattered complaints about water shortages, electricity issues, malfunctioning lifts, and poor maintenance has now evolved into a full-blown movement. Frustrated with unresponsive management, residents have been staging symbolic protests every weekend, standing together with placards and silent marches within the society’s premises.

The protest is not just about broken promises; it reflects a deeper crisis of trust between the residents and the builder. One of the core issues raised is the lack of transparency in the VCAM (maintenance) charges, which residents allege are being collected without proper explanation or service delivery.

"We are paying high charges, but the lift stops mid-way, water supply is erratic, and common areas are dirty,” said a senior citizen who joined the demonstration.

The situation escalated further last week when estate manager Babish failed to respond to a detailed memorandum submitted by the residents. In response, residents filed a complaint with the local Sector-3 police station, demanding legal intervention. Despite pressure, the builder has yet to issue an official statement or meet the residents directly.

This Sunday’s protest took a sharper turn as residents assembled near the builder’s sales office, aiming to alert potential homebuyers about the unresolved issues. With posters detailing their grievances, they urged prospective buyers to question the flashy promises made during flat bookings.

In a late development, under police persuasion, the estate manager announced that a senior representative from Eros Sampoornam Management Services Pvt. Ltd. would meet residents on July 29. However, residents have made it clear they are no longer satisfied with verbal commitments — they now demand clear timelines and written assurances for every issue raised.

Despite the mounting pressure, the builder has maintained a public silence. This lack of communication has only added to the anger and anxiety within the community.

“We trusted Eros with our life savings. Today, we feel abandoned in our own homes,” said a working mother who has faced constant power cuts and generator billing disputes.

If no resolution is reached in the coming days, residents plan to escalate the protest further. A formal letter has already been sent to the District Magistrate, informing about a larger public protest scheduled for August 3. This time, they say, the protest will not be limited to society boundaries.

The peaceful yet persistent demonstrations at Eros Sampoornam symbolize a growing trend in urban housing societies — where citizens, when denied basic rights, are ready to take collective action. The question now is: will the builder step up and resolve the crisis, or will silence deepen the standoff?
