Greater Noida West: An incident of an electric scooter catching fire came to light in Supertech Eco Village 2 when it was getting charged. There were no casualties in the fire but the society residents have raised many questions on the society management. The matter fell under the Bisrakh Kotwali area.
Explosion in the electric scooter being charged leading to fire
On June 17, Monday, an electric scooter was being charged in front of a shop in the commercial market of Supertech Ecovillage-2 located in Greno West Sector-16B. Meanwhile, at around 2 pm, there was an explosion in the electric scooter being charged and it caught fire. The fire caused chaos. In a hurry, the shopkeepers and the maintenance team of the society controlled the fire in the scooter.
Kiosks were of steel which prevented the fire from spreading
The scooter was parked between two kiosks. The flames of the fire in the scooty reached both the kiosks, but luckily the kiosk was made of steel due to which the kiosk did not catch fire.
Society residents are angry
After the incident, the society residents are angry with the society’s management. Residents have raised many questions about society management. The residents have asked what is the arrangement for charging electric vehicles in society or the commercial market, was the way the scooty was being charged correct, what action was taken against the one who was charging the scooty in this manner, are there effective fire safety arrangements in the market etc. The residents have also raised questions on the authority that all the kiosks in the market area are illegal, then why action is not being taken to remove them.
