A travel content creator showcased an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Kali in Haridwar, which is believed by many to have existed since the Mahabharata era. The temple is located in the cave of a mountain, while the railway line between Haridwar and Dehradun passes beneath it.
Rishabh Sharma shared a video on Instagram which showed how every train that passes from his railway line blows the horn as a mark of respect to Goddess Kali. He highlighted the story behind this in the pinned comment of the post.
The Miraculous Temple Of Goddess Kali
Experts suggest that the railway line was built during the British era, while trains started operating a few years later.
The content creator shared that locals believe that there is a “self-manifested idol of Maa Kali” at this temple. He said that when the railway track was being constructed for the first time during the British era, their engineers broke the bridge that led to Goddess Kali’s temple.
“After that the railway work simply refused to move forward,” Sharma wrote.
“As per local belief, Maa Kali appeared in the British engineer’s dream and warned him that unless the path to her temple was rebuilt and the bridge restored, the railway would never progress. Once the bridge was rebuilt and the temple path was respected, the work finally moved ahead. Since then, every train that passes through this spot blows its horn as a mark of respect,” he added.
In the now-viral clip, the content creator can be seen travelling in a train. As soon as the train passed beneath the temple, it started blowing horns to pay respect.
While sharing the video, Sharma wrote in caption: “Haridwar ka sabse anokha mandir
It is said that Goddess Kali fulfills the wish of every person who visits this temple.
Since being shared on Instagram, the post has received more than 65,000 likes, while many flooded the comments section with ‘Jai Mata Di’ and ‘Jai Maa Kali’
One person wrote, “Dekhe aur sune h bhai (I have seen and heard about it)”.
Another added, “Haridwar Har Ki Pauri aaye ho toh aapne ye Mandir zarur dekha hoga (You would have definitely seen this temple if you visited Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar).”
A third person wrote, “Hn bhai mene bhi experience kiya hai (Yes brother, even I have experienced this)”.
The viral post highlights how on end devotees visit the temple to have darshan of Goddess Kali and on the other trains keep passing beneath the temple.
