Noida: Residents of Noida’s 7X sectors (74–79) and nearby Sector 116 have been battling intense dust pollution for over a month, owing to roads left in disrepair after being dug up by multiple departments. The deteriorating road conditions are contributing directly to the city’s worsening air quality, with AQI readings in the ‘poor’ category — 191 on June 11, 172 on June 13, and 138 on June 14 — as per IMD data.
Amit Gupta, former AOA president of Prateek Wisteria and resident of Sector 77, expressed deep concern:
The entire 7X belt, including sectors 77, 76, 74, 78, 79, and Sector 116, is suffering due to the negligence of Noida Authority WC-6, the water department, IGL, and others. They’ve damaged several roads and abandoned them

Key stretches affected include:
- Sector 76–77 main road
- Sector 75 main road
- Sector 116’s service road (dug up by PVVNL in February)
- Sector 76 road from Skytech Matrott to Amrapali Silicon City
Residents report that dust and broken road tiles have turned daily commutes into a health hazard.
Even areas near official air monitoring stations haven’t been spared. In Sector 116, repair work for a sewage pipeline by the Noida Authority’s water department left the road outside the monitoring station broken and unrepaired — adding to the irony.
Locals are demanding immediate intervention from the authorities to curb pollution and repair infrastructure before the situation worsens further.
