Noida : Serious concerns over rising dust pollution, damaged roads and alleged administrative apathy have been raised by local residents after widespread civic works left large stretches of Noida covered in soil, debris and open drains.
Amit Gupta, resident of Prateek Wisteria, who recently travelled through Supertech Sector 74 towards Sectors 120, 122 and nearby residential projects like Eldeco said he was ‘shocked’ by the amount of dust and loose soil spread across the roads. According to him, despite Noida being promoted as a modern and planned city, ground reality tells a different story.
In front of Amrapali Zodiac in Sector 120, road digging by the Jal department for laying pipelines has reportedly left the entire stretch filled with mud. Even after the work, the road has not been properly restored, resulting in continuous dust pollution. Around Sector 122, construction of a drain under Circle-6 has allegedly led to sewage sludge and soil spilling directly onto the road, worsening air quality.
The resident accused project engineers and concerned officials of ignoring basic environmental norms.
In meetings, there are tall claims, but none of the officers step out on the road to see what is actually happening. The only solution they seem to know is sprinkling water. If the mud is removed properly, there would be no need to spray water repeatedly.

He also questioned the silence of residents living in Sectors 118, 119 and 120, asking whether people have become so used to pollution that dust-filled roads no longer bother them.
Similar conditions were highlighted in Sectors 79 and 116, where a left turn at a major crossing remains unfinished and filled with loose soil. Despite repeated complaints, the road work was allegedly left incomplete. With two-wheelers constantly using the turn, dust clouds rise throughout the day. Ironically, a pollution monitoring station located barely 500 metres away reportedly records PM10 levels shooting up to 800, yet no permanent corrective action has been taken.
Residents allege that instead of fixing roads, clearing debris and improving planning, authorities focus on uploading photographs of water sprinkling at multiple locations.
There is no pollution control plan, no execution strategy, just water, water and more water.
Residents
The issue once again raises questions about accountability, planning and environmental responsibility in Noida, especially at a time when air pollution remains a major public health concern.
