Noida: The controversy over daycare operations inside Paras Tierra Society, Sector-137, Noida, has intensified. Recently, an inhuman incident involving a 15-month-old child shocked the entire community. Following the matter, the local police immediately sealed the daycare being run inside the society premises and issued strict directions to the society board for appropriate action.
However, in a surprising turn of events, the Paras Tierra Society Board on August 17 issued a notice on the MyGate app stating that daycare centres can now be operated on the society’s ground floor. This decision has triggered outrage and deep concern among residents.
Parents’ and Residents’ Concerns
Residents argue that despite clear instructions from Noida Authority and local police against running any kind of commercial activity inside a residential society, the board has chosen to allow daycare operations. They have raised several questions:
- When the authority has declared commercial activities inside residential societies illegal, how can the society board authorise such operations?
- Is the board acting above the law and the Noida Authority, or is there a case of local collusion?
- Reallowing a daycare, which was earlier sealed for being illegal and unsafe, undermines parents’ trust and children’s safety.
The recent incident shook us from the core. We cannot compromise on our children’s safety. Allowing daycare operations again is not only illegal but also dangerous.

Questions on accountability
The issue goes beyond the legality of the daycare and raises questions about the accountability of the society management itself. Residents fear that such decisions could put children’s lives at risk. Now, all eyes are on the Noida Authority and local police to see what firm action they take in the coming days.
