Noida : The Confederation of NCR Residents Welfare Associations (CONRWA), Noida Chapter, has written a formal letter to the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority raising serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of roads and uncovered drains across the city.

In the letter dated January 25, 2026, CONRWA congratulated the newly appointed CEO and urged him to take immediate steps to address civic issues that have been troubling residents for a long time. The association stated that the condition of many roads in Noida is extremely poor, with uneven surfaces, damaged levels and deep potholes at several locations.

CONRWA highlighted that even newly constructed roads often have improperly adjusted manhole levels, which remain either too high or too low. This causes frequent jolts to vehicles and increases the risk of accidents, especially for two-wheeler riders. The association noted that e-rickshaw and auto drivers often swerve suddenly to avoid these uneven spots, leading to traffic mishaps.

The letter also pointed out that during cleaning work, covers of drains and large nalas are removed and often broken. In many cases, these drains are left uncovered, posing a serious danger to commuters and residents. Such open drains have become accident prone spots, especially during night hours and the monsoon season.

CONRWA further requested the Noida Authority to strictly instruct all civil departments to ensure proper maintenance of roads, drains and nalas in their respective areas. The association also demanded close monitoring of builders who have been allotted plots by the authority, alleging that in some cases, construction work is left incomplete, increasing the risk of major accidents.

The residents’ body appealed to the Noida Authority to take urgent and effective action in public interest so that these long-standing problems can be resolved at the earliest.

The letter was signed by CONRWA Noida Chapter President P S Jain and General Secretary Rajiv Garg, with a copy marked to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for necessary action.
